The other day I woke up with “you are what you practice” echoing in my mind. I also woke up a couple hours before that with the song “Love Train” playing in my head which, while hilarious, may not be totally unrelated.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU PRACTICE. You know the whole 10,000 hours thing? Well that doesn’t just go for artists honing their craft. Whatever you give your mental, emotional, and/or physical energy towards you expand on it. It could be a thought, a habitual behavior, or a new/old skill. Whatever it is- positive, negative, self-supportive or self-destructive- by virtue of your continued attention, it grows in your awareness. And because we are always merging with our objects of attention- either consciously or subconsciously- we grow with/into it. Whenever you practice something, you, in a sense, GET BETTER at it. So then, as the card of this full moon day asks.... what do you want to grow? What are you practicing? What do you want to “get better” at?
