Stop making your life harder
A little conversation I had w/ myself this morning:
How much money do I have to make, how many projects do I have to voice, how many books do I have to write, how many social media followers do I have to accumulate, how many sales and clicks and downloads and likes, how many yes’s, I approve’s, go ahead’s, great job’s... until I no longer feel like a fraud?
Exactly when will my existence be validated? My importance confirmed? When will I finally be good enough???
Uh, well, if you’re seriously asking these questions, probably never. There’s no number or quantifiable amount that will ever provide you with what you’re really seeking. Because underneath it all what you’re really seeking is ease. Peace. Security. Enjoyment. Connection. Love. Freedom. Self-approval. You want to have these feelings. And as long as you keep looking to other people to provide them, you’ll never find a sustained source.
So instead of continuing this toxic dance with dissatisfaction, why don’t you just fucking relax a bit, focus on the tasks in front of you, find as much joy (or at least as much presence) in whatever you’re doing, remember that it takes Earth time for circumstances to line up but they can/do line up, and STOP MAKING YOUR LIFE HARDER THAN IT HAS TO BE.
Oh, right. I forgot.
